Palladians STEM Career Circle Webinar

The Palladians STEM Career Circle Webinar for this year was an inspiring and insightful event, held on September 12th. Hosted by the Palladian’s’ students representatives, the webinar brought together Mac.Rob’s current students and alumni, creating an engaging platform to learn from accomplished graduates in STEM.

We had the privilege of hearing from three remarkable alumni, each making waves in their respective fields:

  • Dr. Thao P. Le: A research fellow at the Melbourne Centre for Data Science, Dr. Le’s career journey spans quantum physics and mathematical modelling for global vaccine policy and national biosecurity. This captivating presentation illuminated how the intersection of science and policy can shape critical areas such as global health, offering students a glimpse into the impactful work behind vaccine development.

  • Shanika Galaudage: A PhD in gravitational wave astrophysics, Shanika is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur in Nice, France. Her passion for science communication, along with her involvement in the global scientific community, was evident throughout her talk. Shanika’s presentation encouraged students to pursue their curiosity and actively contribute to the wider scientific discourse.

  • Shamila Saputantrie: As a graduate Civil Engineer at Aurecon, Shamila is making significant strides in road and transport design. She also highlighted the importance of bridging technical engineering skills with effective communication. Her insights demonstrated how engineers are not just problem-solvers but also critical communicators in ensuring projects’ success.

The webinar was a testament to the achievements of Mac.Rob’s alumni, leaving students inspired to explore diverse career pathways in STEM. The dedication of the Palladians’ representatives ensured a successful and enriching experience for all who attended.
