Beca Presentation & Panel Discussion
On Monday, December 4th, students gathered for the highly anticipated Beca Presentation & Panel Discussion. This lunchtime event offered a unique opportunity for Year 10 and 11 students to explore career pathways and gain insights into the professional world.
Beca, a leading STEM / engineering firm, has partnered with Mac.Rob to provide work experience and mentorship opportunities tailored for Year 10 and 11 students. These programs aim to empower students with practical knowledge, skills, and industry exposure, preparing them for future success.
The event featured insightful presentations by Tom Delaney and Fran Soler from Beca, who shared their expertise and personal journeys within the STEM sector. Their engaging talks highlighted the diverse opportunities within the industry and the importance of problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation in shaping impactful projects.
Following the presentations, a dynamic panel discussion allowed students to interact directly with the speakers. Thought-provoking questions from the students sparked meaningful conversations about career aspirations, challenges in the industry, and the value of mentorship in personal and professional growth.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tom Delaney and Fran Soler for their time, enthusiasm, and commitment to inspiring the next generation. Their visit marked the 3 rd year of an exciting collaboration between Beca and Mac.Rob, promising incredible opportunities for our students to thrive.
At the end of the presentation students signed up for Beca’s work experience and mentorship programs for 2025. This is a chance for students to take a first steps toward a rewarding career!
Year 9 Pancake Breakfast
Continuing a cherished tradition at Mac.Rob, the Year 9 Pancake Breakfast brought together students, staff, and alumni to celebrate the members of our school community. Held in the canteen courtyard, the event was sponsored by the Palladians Association, showcasing their unwavering support for our school’s initiatives.
The morning was a true team effort. Palladians Anusha Yellapragadara and Yu Xuan Peh worked in the bbq, flipping pancakes to perfection alongside staff members. Palladians’ student reps reps Mandy Chian, Alveena Hasan, Sakina Khambati, and Rutvi Doshi supported in organising and running the event, ensuring everything flowed smoothly.
Over 300 Year 9 students gathered to enjoy delicious pancakes topped with fresh strawberries, bananas, and a drizzle of maple syrup. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and conversations.
This event not only provided a warm appreciation to our Year 9 cohort but also highlighted the incredible sense of community and collaboration that defines Mac.Rob. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to making the Pancake Breakfast a memorable success. We look forward to seeing our Year 9 students thrive in the years to come!
Thank you Palladians’ Association!
