School Captains’ Reflection | 2024
Throughout 2024, we sought to spread powerful messages through creative means among the Mac.Rob community.
Our first whole-school assembly set the tone with a dynamic dance performance featuring House, Sport, and Middle School Captains, igniting excitement for the year’s upcoming events. Next came our first school lunchtime event: the Paint-By-Number Mural Artwork. This large canvas served a powerful purpose, with each carefully completed square contributing to a large, collective masterpiece. During Term 3’s Mac.Rob Week, we led activities that encouraged students to connect, pause, and simply experience the present moment with friends and peers.
The final whole-school assembly captured our energetic spirit across the year. Our secret project – cardboard car costumes riding on skateboards – was months in the making! Our goal was simple: to bring unexpected joy in the lead up to challenging times of exams or the emotional journey of leaving school. Of course, among this craze we hoped to inspire innovation among young students, and quoting from our speech: “there is no limit to your creativity, here at Mac.Rob”.
Finally, our final address to the community during Presentation Night featured our most cherished message: at Mac.Rob, we’re not just surrounded by others, but we’re truly together with them. Accompanying the poem of our speech was a beautifully designed artwork by Flora L (10F) revealing our hidden message as the speech progressed.
To the Mac.Rob community of 2024: thank you for supporting each other and contributing to these memorable experiences. We hope we’ve inspired future leaders to approach leadership with innovation, curiosity, and a touch of unexpected fun!
