Mac.Rob Week 2024
Week 8 of Term 3 marked the annual Mac.Rob Week, a vibrant celebration that brought our school community together through a range of innovative and engaging activities. Guided by our focus on community engagement – the week promised and delivered an unforgettable experience for students across all year levels!
Macrobian Monday kicked off with the “Leave Your Smile” initiative, and by lunchtime, the canvas filled with colour dots were quickly filled with positivity, setting the tone for a week of collective creativity and connection.
Tisty-Tosty Tuesday buzzed with chatter while students came together to create friendship bracelets, paper crane garlands, or a flower garden during Connect – finally our school corridors were filled with a splash of colour!
What? Wow. Wicked! Wednesday was considered the week’s highlight – a meticulously designed online escape room that captured the problem-solving ability of over 250 students. The digital challenge sparked the competitive spirit among students, aiming to be the first to solve the hidden riddle…
During lunchtime on the same day, our Middle School Captains, Chloe Lim and Claire Lee, led the Middle School Dodgeball Face-Off. What started off as a shy battle soon transformed into a fierce competition as the year levels competed to be crowned the champion of Middle School.
Throwback Thursday featured a beautifully crafted yearly review video that captured the essence of our Captain’s vision “beyond the horizon”, reminding us of the simple yet momentous moments of the student community.
Frenzy Friday truly lived up to its name with a thrilling scavenger hunt that had the school oozing with excitement. Year 9 and 10 students arrived as early as 7:30am, eagerly searching for secret envelopes we hid around the school. The competitive spirit outshone, with Year 12 students desperately seeking clues and some playfully “stalking” us in hiding excess envelopes during the day.
Concluding the week on Friday were a range of joyous carnival style activities held in the gym and L1 building. Students fell (safely) during the sack race, competed against the Principal and Assistant Principles in tug of war and scattergories, wore blindfolds in the 4-stage mini games, and transformed into a human scale in the lolly jar guessing, among many more! These activities left Mac.Rob Week on a high note full of joy.
Each day of Mac.Rob Week proved that when we come together, we can transform ordinary school days into extraordinary memories. The highlight of Mac.Rob to us are the students - our friends, our peers, and the cause of the youthful exuberance around school.
