Year 9 Visual Communication Product Design

Mac.Rob is known for the outstanding achievements of our students, especially when it comes to ATAR results and VCE study scores. But what’s often missed is our strong focus on creativity, problem-solving, and creative expression - all invaluable skills that shape the success of students, both at school and in their future areas of study and work. We encourage our students to excel in a breadth of subjects, which is why students have the opportunity to pursue their interests in a wide range of areas from Year 9 onwards, and develop important skills for further study at higher Year levels.

A perfect example is our Year 9 Visual Communication students, who took on a product design challenge to create their own branding and packaging for fictional products. From tea, to soaps, to keep cups, students engaged letterform, colour theory, and ergonomics to pitch their products to prospective buyers and help them stand out from the competition.

Visual Communication is just one of the Arts and Technology subjects on offer to our students that allows them to build practical skills for future pathways in business, industrial design, and multimedia vocations, and helps contribute to a well-rounded education.
