Wellbeing Update | Term 3, 2023

Parents and carers are encouraged to view our fourth Little Lesson - this is a series of short films, created specifically for our Mac.Rob community, that are aimed to help you support your child’s development of strong mental health.

The fourth Little Lesson, “Accept your child’s thoughts and ideas as their truth”, encourages you to always remember that the views and opinions that your child expresses will be true for them, and that these views and opinions are valid and important. Your child is much more likely to seek connection with you, to engage in conversation with you, and to ask you for advice and guidance, if they feel that you accept and understand their perspective. One of the most important contributors to wellbeing is the connection between parents and children.

We will release eight Little Lessons over the course of this year, all of which will be accessible on our Family Portal. Keep an eye out later in Term 3 for more Little Lessons.

As always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or feedback about wellbeing at Mac.Rob, at bridget.mcpherson@macrob.vic.edu.au.
