Sports Week 2023

During Week 8, the Sports Portfolio put together a week of fun and games to get people involved in Sport! Sports week saw hundreds of students participating in a wide variety of events, whether it be playing some primary school games on Monday, coming along to the harmony day themed games on Tuesday, cheering on the students or teachers at the volleyball match on Wednesday, competing against the other downball champions in our 2-square tournament on Thursday of getting active when travelling to school on Friday!

Ride2School Day on Friday was one of the highlights of the week. We had smoothie bikes in the Rose Garden with oat and almond milk, bananas and berries, a yum brekkie spread near the flagpoles with fruit and bread, as well a raffle with a collection of cool prizes! Students won chocolate, drink bottles, a crumpler bag and even a bike! Seeing everyone finding more sustainable ways of getting to school from Flinders Street/South Yarra Station such as walking, riding and even skateboarding was such a highlight, especially considering how far some of us travel!

The Mac.Rob community really came together to celebrate sport and it was great to see everyone getting involved and having some fun, which is the most important part of sport. We can’t wait for all the sporting events for the rest of the year!

A big thanks to everyone who came along and participated, as well as our team of sport reps for running such a great week, the social service team for their help with running our Students v Teachers Charity Match and the enviro team for joining us for another year of Ride2School Day festivities! We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and took some time to have fun with their friends and get active.
