Community Engagement | Term 1 Update
Industrial Partnerships.
Mac.Rob has formed a new STEM partnership with Beca. Together, we have launched a Mentoring Program for Year 11 students and a Work Experience Program for Year 10 students.
Beca Engineers had a presentation and panel discussion in the school Hall early this Term. The Q&A panel also allowed students to ask questions about the day-to-day work of engineers, further enriching their understanding of the field. The personal insights shared by the Beca Engineers during the Q&A panel provide students with valuable information about the industry and potential career paths.
The partnership between Beca and Mac.Rob in the field of STEM provides significant benefits to the school. By collaborating with one of the largest independent advisory, design, and engineering consultancies in the Asia Pacific region, Mac.Rob gains access to a wealth of expertise and knowledge. The Mentoring Program and Work Experience Program offer valuable opportunities for students to learn about Engineering and Professional Services as a career, as well as gain practical experience and insights from industry professionals. This partnership enables Mac.Rob to enhance its STEM education offerings and better prepare its students for future careers in these fields.
Additionally, the Gender@Beca team's initiative to improve the representation and connectedness of females within their business and industry aligns with Mac.Rob's commitment to diversity and inclusion, creating a more inclusive learning environment for all students.
With 21 students set to complete work experience at Beca and 25 students secured with mentorship opportunities, Mac.Rob has effectively provided its students with unique opportunities for career development and growth.
Parents Association News.
On March 16th, two sessions of the Prospective Year 8 Information Night were held, providing interested families with the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school.
The event was made even more enjoyable thanks to the presence of our dedicated Parents Association volunteers, who welcomed attendees and sold snacks for their fundraiser and provided complimentary coffee and tea. The PA tables were located outdoors in the rose garden, allowing ample space for families to enjoy refreshments and socialise with each other, while the students showcased their musical talents.
The Parent volunteers were extremely helpful in sharing their knowledge and experiences with the prospective families, who were eager to learn more about the school. We would like to extend a special thanks to Jasmine and her daughters, Farah, Ash, Purvi, Shraddha, Natsuko, Frank, Nav, Anand, Longjin, Dani, Samir, and Shashidhar, for their valuable support.
