Primary School Partnership Activities

Primary school Mentoring Program

The commencement of the mentoring program between Mac.Rob High School and the two primary schools commenced this term. With mentors sending out welcoming and introductory cards to mentees. The inaugural day took place at South Yarra Primary and South Melbourne Park Primary School, leaving a lasting impression on all participants. The event brought together 19 mentors from our school and 52 mentees from the two primary schools. As we visited each Primary schools, the mentees greeted us with enthusiasm and warmth, creating an atmosphere charged with excitement and anticipation as we embarked on this shared journey.

The conversations were engaging, and the connections made were evident from the very beginning. The mentees' curiosity and the mentors' dedication were truly inspiring. It was evident that both were eager to learn from each other, creating an environment of mutual growth and development.

This new project has set off on a positive note, and we are excited about the potential it holds for both the mentors and mentees. We believe that fostering such relationships between students from different educational levels can lead to a more inclusive and empathetic community.

In conclusion, the first day of the mentoring program was a resounding success, and we are excited to see the positive changes it will bring to the lives of the mentees and mentors alike. Together, we can create a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters growth, learning, and understanding.

Bookmarks Project by Interact Club

The bookmarks project was enthusiastically undertaken by our online club members. These bookmarks come in a variety of designs, with some crafted digitally and others lovingly hand-drawn. We believe that books have the power to inspire and uplift and wanted to share that inspiration with others.

Half of these bookmarks were gifted to primary school children at Noble Park English Language School - a school that assists students and their families in their transition to a new country. The remaining were donated to a regional Campaspe library. We heard that Campaspe faced floods late last year, and though we were unsure whether this impacted their area, we extended our warm wishes in the form of these bookmarks as a heartfelt gift.

Our hope is that these bookmarks will bring joy and delight to readers, enhancing their reading experiences and adding a touch of warmth to the pages of their favourite books.
