Portrait Gallery Induction 2024
The Mac.Rob Portrait Gallery Induction is held every year to honour the achievements of our very own graduates. Our Portrait Gallery is a growing collection of past students who have excelled in various fields, serving to honour our alumnae and inspire current students to believe in their potential to achieve great things
This year, we inducted Dr. Elizabeth Grant AM, Leonie Bird, Jacqui Briggs Weatherill, and Jenn ten Seldam. Their diverse experiences provided inspiration to guests, highlighting different career paths, challenges, and core values essential to success.
A short biography description of each inductee can be found below:
Elizabeth was a pharmacist and businesswoman who made significant contributions to health, medical research, and community programs. She was a leader in pharmacy, active in politics, and a strong advocate for women's advancement. Grant's legacy includes promoting ethical medical research and supporting women in public life.
Leonie is a barrister and community advocate known for her work against domestic violence and her involvement in legal and theological studies. She credits her education at Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School for instilling in her a passion for excellence and public service.
Jacqui is a seasoned sportswoman turned coach and sports administrator, known for her work in promoting gender equality in sports. She has extensive experience as a CEO in local government and not-for-profit sectors, with a focus on organisational leadership and cultural change.
Jenn is known for her transformative leadership in the technology and corporate sectors. Her expertise in strategic communication and organisational coaching has led her to focus on helping businesses and leaders achieve their bold ambitions. Coming from a background in humanities and literature, Jenn values deep understanding and transparent leadership, aiming to foster self-awareness and empathy in her clients.
At the conclusion of the Induction, we were delighted to host a short Q&A with the three inductees who were present that evening: Leonie, Jacqui, and Jenn. Their experiences, insights, and words of wisdom inspired us to think creatively and consider important aspects as we navigate our future paths.
While we may not always reach our goals, and while things may not come as expected, no matter where you are in life and what you have experienced, remember to hold on to your values. These will guide you in the dark and lead us into the light of our hearts desire.
By chasing fulfilment, we can gain achievement, even if it means our concept of achievement has changed in the process. By focusing on direction and not perfection, we are more likely to stay true to ourselves. These concepts, fulfilment, integrity and direction, might not get you to your goals the quickest, but if we are unhappy once we’ve reached these goals, what was the point in reaching them?
