MHS x MacRob Theatre Sports Competition

On Friday, August 9th, twelve Mac.Rob Theatre Club members travelled to Melbourne High School for our second ever friendly (and sometimes not so) Theatre Sports Competition against MHS. Organised and planned by the Mac.Rob Drama Co-Captains, along with the MHS Theatre Sports Captain and Vice-Captain, the event brought together the two schools for a wonderful display of fun, camaraderie through storytelling and stagecraft.

The enthusiasm and energy brought to the humble A2 Theatre by both schools was delightful to witness - albeit sometimes overwhelmingly when the passion was supported by a cacophony of screams and shouts. With three teams of four, we competed in a variety of theatre sports, after some speeches and a classic introductory Bang!, including Death in a Minute, Expert Double Figures, Genre Replay and Space Jump.

It was a nail biting finish, with only one point separating Mac.Rob and MHS. After a few tense moments, we are glad to announce that Mac.Rob prevailed! Beating Melbourne High with just a one point margin for the second year in a row, our prowess over the unicorns was cemented into history, and we hope to continue our victory streak in years to come.

This event would not have been possible without the kind support of our supervising teachers Mr. Wegner and Mr. Howie. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Regalo and Ms. Williams for their support in coordinating the logistics behind this event. Finally, a huge thanks to everyone who helped organise, participated and attended the event to make this a huge success!

If you are keen to join Theatre Club, we meet every Friday lunchtime in the Theatre, no experience is required! We can’t wait to see you there!
