Little Lessons Podcast: “All of your emotions are welcome here.”
We are excited to release the third episode of our podcast, Little Lessons. Little Lessons aims to provide parents, carers and family members with information and ideas about how to raise children who are resilient, independent and well, and how to partner with our educators at Mac.Rob to ensure that your child receives the best education possible for them.
This episode, “All of your emotions are welcome here”, features our Head of Middle School, Josie Phillips, and introduces parents and carers to John Gottman’s Emotion Coaching, which is a strategy for building emotional intelligence, emotion regulation skills, resilience, and coping skills in young people. Josie and I offer detailed explanations of the five steps of Emotion Coaching, allowing parents and carers to give it a go at home when children experience uncomfortable emotions, like worry, stress, sadness or anger.
We have continued to provide parents and carers with information about how they can support their child’s wellbeing, through our Little Lessons videos and podcasts, which are available on the Wellbeing & Careers page of our Family Portal.
You can listen to the episode below, or subscribe to the Mac.Rob Podcast channel on SoundCloud for all the latest!
