Mac.Rob International Women’s Day Breakfast 2025
Friends, families, and students of Mac.Rob are warmly invited to join us for our annual International Women's Day Breakfast, as we reflect on progress, call for change, and celebrate the courage and determination of those who have changed the face of gender equality.
UN Women Australia’s International Women’s Day theme for 2025 is ‘March Forward: It's time to turn promises into progress.’ Thirty years ago, the world committed to a bold vision for gender equality, the United Nations' Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. Since then, we’ve seen women break barriers, reshape policies, and ignite global movements. Yet, despite these strides, the promises made remain largely unfulfilled for millions of women worldwide. We are simply not where we should be.
It’s time to turn promises into progress.
Please join us for our annual International Women’s Day Breakfast, held in the historic Mac.Rob Hall, as we bring together leaders and changemakers who are redefining innovation – creating new social, economic and cultural codes for a gender equal future, and help us raise much needed funds to accelerate gender equality.
Our special guest speaker for 2025 is Professor Elif Ekinci, a clinician scientist and academic endocrinologist who is working to translate research into improved outcomes for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Her research is focused on the pathophysiology, prevention, detection and treatment of diabetes and its complications in humans.
Our Q&A guest panellists will be announced closer to the date.
