House Swimming Carnival

The annual Mac.Rob House Swimming Carnival on February 11th never fails to be one of the most thrilling and fiercely competitive events on the school calendar, and this year was no exception! With stands packed in a sea of House-themed costumes, the day kicked off with the much-anticipated House Parade. The competition was tight, with house chants echoing across MSAC, but ultimately Dryads took the win for the House Parade.

Whilst many students exhibited their talent and passion for swimming, countless others dived head first into the pool, challenging and pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. We are immensely proud of and would like to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to everyone who swam in the competition.

In particular, we would like to acknowledge our 2025 age group champions:

  • 14 Years: Chelsea R (Nereids)

  • 15 Years: Weylen T (Nereids)

  • 16 Years: Jowdy M (Dryads)

  • 17 Years: Olivia T (Nereids)

  • 18 Years: Yeju L (Naiads)

We were also excited to see the Year 9s make their debuts in the HouseSwimming Carnival and they all performed astoundingly, with:

  • Ella Y (Oreads) breaking Mac.Rob's Girls 15 year old 50m Butterfly record.

  • Weylen Truong (Nereids) breaking Mac.Rob's Girls 15 year old Butterfly & Breastroke records, as well as winning the open fastest 50m freestyle event overall.

House spirit was definitely at an all time high as even those who did not swim were constantly cheering on their peers and participating in the novelty events run by the Sport Portfolio. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on everyone’s faces despite it being a competition, with Oreads and Naiads ending first, neck to neck in the novelty events.

Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered, and contributed to making this year’s House Swimming Carnival such a memorable event as, beyond being just a competition, the carnival at its core is a chance for students to embrace the school values, and it certainly lived up to that spirit.

With that being said… congratulations to Nereids for taking out the ultimate win!
