House Debating

“If Harry Potter magic existed, it would be ethical to use.”

This was the topic debated at the House Debating Grande Finale, catered towards Mac.Rob’s large Harry Potter fan base. On the affirmative team was Naiads, represented by Elisa S, Alice Z and Minali S. On the negative team was Dryads, represented by Diemmy P, Madison G and Vaishnavi R. All the speakers made amazing speeches with compelling arguments, and we highly commend them for their efforts and hard work. 

A huge congratulations to the overall winner of House Debating (drumroll).... Dryads!

We want to thank everyone who has participated in House Debating throughout the past few weeks. It was great to see so many people from different backgrounds and levels of experience come together to have friendly debates over interesting topics - ranging from robots, time travel and even superpowers. We also want to thank the adjudicators who dedicated their time into overseeing the debates and using their expertise to ensure the event ran smoothly. Debating has always been a significant part of the Mac.Rob community, so it was heartwarming to see the student passion for debating that was fostered by this event.

Overall, we hope you enjoyed House Debating as much as we did!
