The Australian Olympic Change-Maker program recognises students who are demonstrating “Olympic spirit” - i.e. friendship, sportsmanship, and striving for excellence – both on and off the playing field through their leadership and driving positive change in their school or local community. Mac.Rob nominated two students for their contributions in school sports by being passionate leaders.

“On Thursday the 2nd of September, we were lucky enough to attend the 2021 Australian Olympic Change-Maker Virtual Forum. After having the honour of being nominated for the change-maker award, we were both super excited to have this opportunity to listen to and learn from some amazing Australian olympians, as well as connect with many other students from across the country.

“We received great insight into the Olympic values of: excellence, friendship, respect which we could see embodied in the athletes as they shared the ways in which they have stayed connected and passionate about their sports throughout the last two years. The incredible Beach Volleyball duo and silver medalists, Taliqua Clancy and Mariafe Aratacho Del Solar, left a lasting impression on us by exemplifying the importance of friendship and their incredible dedication to each other, both on court and off.

“We are so grateful to have been a part of this incredible event, and it has really inspired us to continue to grow as leaders and team players through our love for sport.”
