SRC Week 2022

From May 16th-20th, Mac.Rob celebrated SRC Week, a week of workshops and activities dedicated to embracing student voices and creating a supportive environment within the school. Each day had a unique theme that related back to this year's SRC vision: VIBES (Voice, Innovative Initiatives, Bonds, Engagement and Support).

To kick off the week, we had Multicultural Monday, which aimed to celebrate the diversity within Mac.Rob. We watched some amazing performances, watched a multicultural parade, and enjoyed a delicious bake stall. Then, on Tuesday, we celebrated IDAHOBIT Day, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia. The wonderful SAT Team organised performances, face painting and more. This was also the day when the Pronouns Project was released!

Wednesday was about spreading the warmth with Warmth Wednesday! We watched Frozen at lunch, had a “Where’s Winnie” competition, and students were encouraged to wear their warm accessories and bring their bears. Next we had Teachers vs Students Thursday, where we ran Spicy Tea, Spicy Soup where students and teachers had to spill the spicy tea or drink a shot of spicy soup. We ended the week with Feminism Friday, were we had the pleasure of listening to Jasmine Nguyen, a graduate MacRobbian and the youngest ever Mayor of Brimbank!

Overall, it was an amazing week and we are so grateful to all the teachers and students who got involved.
