Ozwater Conference 2024
The Ozwater Conference 2024, hosted by the Australian Water Association, with the support of our Education Partner, Fulton Hogan, is renowned as the largest gathering of water professionals in the southern hemisphere, and showcases the crucial role of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in the water industry.
On Wednesday, May 1st, seventeen Year 11 and 12 students embarked on a memorable journey to the Ozwater'24 Education Hub, which is designed specifically for Student Industry Immersion Experience. Throughout the day, they engaged with esteemed Industry Leaders representing disciplines such as construction, engineering, design, and environmental studies within the water sector.
Students had the unique opportunity to learn firsthand from these experts, gaining insights into the innovative projects and technologies transforming the water industry. They were exposed to real-world applications of their STEM education, witnessing how theoretical concepts translate into practical solutions that address critical challenges in water management and sustainability.
Apart from insightful discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, the day was also filled with fun-filled activities aimed at fostering teamwork and creativity among the students.
We are immensely grateful to Fulton Hogan for their invaluable support as our Education Partner at this prestigious event. Such partnerships enable us to offer our students enriching experiences that complement their academic learning and inspire them to pursue careers in STEM-related fields.
Events like Ozwater'24 not only broaden our students' horizons, but also reinforce the importance of interdisciplinary learning and its impact on addressing global challenges. We are confident that this experience has ignited a passion for innovation and problem-solving among our students, preparing them for future leadership roles in the dynamic water industry.
The Australian Water Association and all the industry leaders generously shared their time and expertise with our students. Such collaborations strengthen our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of STEM professions.
