Mc.Reads Book Club

Who said reading had to be boring?

Well, no one said that, because the long-standing Mac.Rob Book Club, known fondly as Mc.Reads, has made reading more fun than ever! This year, Mc.Reads has embarked on a new project to reinvigorate the fun and creativity that reading inspires, through the creation of our very own Mc.Reads Scrapbook. Our meetings thus far have involved working collaboratively on creating the memorable front cover of the book, which is now completed due to the hard work of all Mc.Reads members.

From now on, each fortnight, a member will be able to take the scrapbook home and personalise their own page, giving us insights into their reading pursuits and tastes. So far, I’ve filled out a page of the scrapbook, inspired by my favourite K-Pop idol, and full to the brim with my favourite novel and manga recommendations. If you’d like to check out the creative work that the scrapbook holds, consider joining us every Week B Monday, at lunchtime, which will give you the chance to get involved with our cosy reader community!

The purpose of Mc.Reads has always been to encourage reading, in all its forms, and share the joy of reading, writing and creativity with the Mac.Rob community. Between the 2024 Mc.Reads Co-Captains, we all have different preferences when it comes to reading: Shan has amazing manga taste, Dill is the queen of Webtoons, and I love to read and write fanfiction! If you, like us, have the vaguest interest in reading (even if it’s the back of shampoo bottles), then you’re the perfect fit for Mc.Reads.
