Mac.Rob Enviro Fest 2024!

On Friday, February 23rd, Mac.Rob hosted its very first Enviro Fest - all designed, organised and planned by the amazing Environment Committee! As the first event of the year on the Enviro calendar, there was much anticipation to see our vision come to life.

The event focused on the theme of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as each of these are an integral part of the more sustainable future we are all striving towards. The event aimed to educate students on different ways to recycle household items such as jars and even plastic pots, through events such as terrarium making and pot painting. As the Environment Committee we wanted to showcase just how simple and fun looking after our beautiful world can be. Highlighting, that even small steps such as reducing, reusing and recycling can have an enormous impact.

We are sure this event was one of the biggest and most successful ENVIRO events due to the massive turnout and participation. We were thrilled to see the excitement and buzz as the event began and the proud satisfaction as many of you finished making your very own terrariums.

We of course could not have done it without our schools Head Gardener, Ms. Kym Munro, who so willingly shared with us her wealth of knowledge on gardening and terrarium making as well as kindly volunteered her time and effort to help us prepare for the day. We would also like to thank our supervising teacher, Ms. Day, and Ms. Williams for their coordination and support throughout this new process. Thank you to our Year 10-12 Environment Committee Members who also helped us set up and manage the event!

We cannot wait to showcase even more amazing events ENVIRO has to offer throughout 2024. Keep an eye out for our upcoming event in Term 2 and be sure to come along with friends.
