Holi Festival 2024

In honour of the Hindu festival commemorating colour, love and spring, Monday 25th March saw Mac.Rob welcome festivities to celebrate Holi Day. A sweet start to the day was welcomed by a ‘Holi themed’ bake stall SRC organised in collaboration with Social Justice. In addition to the wide range of colourful baked goods, were cultural dishes such as ‘Gulab Jamun’ and ‘Murukku’, that were well received by both students and teachers alike!

Lunch marked the beginning of long awaited Henna stalls – a fan favourite amongst students buzzing with excitement. Twenty student volunteers spent the duration of lunch as full fledged henna artists, tattooing designs that ranged from simple to complex, and even freestyling designs at the request of students.

A day of classes behind them, students gathered at the patch of grass after school to participate in colour throwing. We were fortunate enough to welcome the Japanese exchange students to this event, accompanied by their host sisters and numerous other students. A dozen colours floated to the sky as quips of laughter punctuated the air – the seemingly ample amount of coloured powder quickly dissipated into the memories of Monday afternoon. Though the clean up was tedious to say the least, these precious moments made it all worthwhile.
