"A Day in Her Boots" Mentoring Program

On October 16th, a group of Year 11 students had the exciting opportunity to participate in the “A Day in Her Boots” mentoring program, organised by Fulton Hogan. This unique initiative aims to inspire female and non-binary students to explore careers in the infrastructure industry, one of the fastest-growing sectors in Australia.

Hosted at Fulton Hogan's Noble Park location, the event showcased both blue-collar and white-collar roles, offering a hands-on experience of the diverse career paths available in this field. The program is part of Fulton Hogan's broader commitment to increasing women's participation in infrastructure, with a focus on creating an inclusive environment at all levels, from offices to project sites.

Students participated in three engaging activity rotations, which included:

  • A visit to a local Fulton Hogan asphalt plant, where they learned about the production process and the roles involved in maintaining such facilities.

  • A virtual tour of a level crossing removal site, providing a behind-the-scenes look at one of Victoria’s major infrastructure projects.

  • A plant demonstration, showcasing machinery and operator roles, giving students a close-up understanding of the equipment used on construction sites.

  • With a bright future ahead in Victoria’s infrastructure landscape, the day provided students with a clear view of the varied career opportunities awaiting them in this dynamic industry.

Fulton Hogan's “A Day In Her Boots” was a remarkable experience that opened doors for our students, showing them the exciting and essential role they can play in shaping the future of Australia's infrastructure.

Thank you, Fulton Hogan!
